:::Zebra&Elephant 1st Birthday:::

Zebra Elephant Party

I was so excited to style this event for a friend of mine. We combined her daughter's love of elephants, her obsession with zebra print, added in hot pink and the cutest birthday theme was born! We made sure to include the birthday girl and a cute elephant on the invitation.

Zebra Elephant Invitation

We had big plans for this party but the challenge was, decorations needed to be on a budget.
I painted zebra stripes on white paper and covered coffee cans for the centerpieces. We made tissue paper flowers in pink and black. The little balloons tied to elephant figurines were made from wire and pom poms.

The dessert table turned out beautiful. I trimmed the front of the table with pink pom pom trim.

Zebra Elephant Dessert Table

The cake was the main centerpiece of the dessert table and I made a pink tulle skirt to go around the cake stand. It sat on a box covered in zebra print paper.

I designed a Mommy & Baby Elephant artwork and displayed it in a hot pink frame. Elephants held little name banners and cupcakes were topped with the little elephant design from the invitation.

I painted a large elephant and little pink bows were cut out for guests to play, 'Pin the bow on the elephant.' Parents could also create 'Elephant hand print art' with their child.

Easter Dessert Table...on a budget!

Easter Dessert Table
I was so excited to celebrate Easter with my kids this year. I wanted to create something really special and do it all on a tight budget. I gave myself a challenge to design this dessert table using things around the house or my mom's house. I could only go and buy the ingredients to bake the desserts.
We celebrated the holiday at my mom's so it worked out perfectly to use her wall piano as the table. It gave me different levels to work with.

Easter Tree
Felt Birds

I've always wanted to create an Easter tree. I used a cut branch off my mom's apricot tree. I made little felt birds to hang from the branches and tied green bows as leaves. To display our colored eggs I placed them on a cupcake holder in color wheel order and tied a bow on the top.

Easter Basket Cupcakes

The Easter basket cupcakes were pretty easy to make. I topped them with dyed green coconut, piped the edges and added egg shaped malt balls on top. To create the handle of the basket, I used a pipe cleaner and tied it off with a bow. To display each cupcake I used tea cups and saucers turned upside down and added green grass to cover the cup.

Easter Bunny Cupcakes

To create the  bunny cupcakes I attached cut out paper ears. They were displayed on a platter that was also turned upside down. Majority of the flowers were cut from felt and attached to wooden skewers. I also made felt carrots.

Easter Egg Flower Centerpieces

The tiny egg flower centerpieces were fun to create. I dyed eggs that were not boiled. I cracked them on the top and washed the insides out. I added a little water inside and picked flowers from the garden. I placed each egg on a brandy glass. It was so easy to create them and they turned out really cute.

Carrot Garland
The carrot garland was made from string and cut paper. I created them by cutting paper into strips and folding them and gluing the tops together. Then I laced a string through the tops of the carrots. They were a little time consuming but I can always use them next year too.

Peep Giveaways
I also had lil' peeps in bags that my children gave to their friends.
I designed a label that said Happy Easter to one of our favorite peeps!

The holiday turned out to be a very special time spent with my family!

:::Bridal Shower ::: Ooh La La:::
Bridal Shower Dessert Table

I was super excited to style this event. Friends of the bride threw her a memorable bridal shower. They chose hot pink and black for the colors. The table was dressed with a hot pink table cloth and white fabric was swagged along the edge. It was tied off with black bows.

Lil' chocolate candy bows and corsets were made for the tops of the cupcakes.
They were also displayed on a platter.

Tissue pom pom balls and a name banner were made.
Each letter of the banner had a ruffle of black lace.

Center pieces were topped off with a hot pink tissue ball
and black crystal beads were hung down the center of the glass vase.

Glass jars held different scents of potpourri and guests were able to
fill lil' organza bags with potpourri.
Anchor Motif: Thank You Tags
Each bag was tied off with a lil' thank you tag so the bride can be remembered
every time they see the bag in their lingerie drawer.

Altogether, it was a fun party to style!

      :::Elmo Party:::
This party was short, sweet and to the point!
The Little Gym is a great place where you can invite 12 of your child’s friends for an hour
to jump around and celebrate your lil’ one!
That’s just what we did for my daughter’s 2nd birthday! I styled their party room head to toe “Elmo.”

At the time, my daughter was obsessed with Elmo; what 2 year isn’t?
But I could not find a party favor that did him justices…so I made one.

I bought red bouncy balls that I found at the grocery store and
I bought paint markers from the craft store.
It took me days but I painted Elmo’s face on every ball.
I’ll admit it was a little eerie walking into the dining room at night
having all the Elmo balls staring at me!
Needless to say, they were a big hit with the kids!

My best friend, Angelica Acosta made her famous cupcakes and
we dressed them with hand painted chocolate Elmo faces. I found the chocolate mold on ebay.

I also made Elmo cake pops, my first attempt, and decided right then and there that
I will leave this task to the professionals!

Of course my lil’ fam bam was decked out in Elmo gear. I found my daughter’s ensemble on eBay. The Tutu Fairy helped me out with a personalized Elmo shirt and red tutu!

She totally looked the part! The party was a hit and my daughter enjoyed herself!

Big thanks to KJ PHOTOGRAPHY for shooting the event!

Gnome Party

My sister threw a party for her best friend's "Golden Birthday"...23 on the 23rd!
We didn't know what type of theme to have since it was an after hour, BYOB party.
Inspiration came on a walk one day.
I passed a overly, decorated house with lots of garden "art."
There he was...a fat gnome standing beside a sun bleached flamingo!
He was my lil' muse!
We literally had no budget...so the only way to style this event was with items I already had.
I used lanterns with red candles and a lil' bit of nature, which the last time I checked is free.
I made the miniature birthday banner out of foam and wire.
The lil' gnomes came to life with felt, thread and hot glue.
The decorations turned out great and the birthday girl was amused.
The best part about the design was it came off the tables quickly for beer pong!

Love Note Tree

Love Note Tree with Owls for a Baby Shower
I'm excited to share my Love Note Tree. It was the first time I've done one. One of my good friends is having a baby boy and a beautiful owl themed baby shower was thrown for her. I was overjoyed to be able to create this tree for her and the big event.  The tree was set up in a black and white, believe or not, trash can. The tree is actually a large branch that I cut down from a dying peach tree in my mom's backyard. I designed owl note cards that hung from the branches. Guests were asked to write a note of love to the mommy to be or to the new baby. I also made two little felt owls that added to the overall design and theme.
